The Carolinas have been going through it this past week. Following the death of Keith Lamont Scott, a black man slain by the police, in North Carolina, there has been days of protest and unrest. Today, in South Carolina, the violence continues with a school shooting. An unidentified teenage white male opened fire at an elementary school playground earlier today. There were three injured victims, two school boys and a female teacher. They were taken to a hospital, and two of them have been discharged. Not much information has been released, so we don’t know if this was a personal attack or not. We do know that the shooter was apprehended by a volunteer firefighter and was held until police arrived. A small distance from the school there was a dead body found, a 47 year old male that was later identified as the shooters father. It is still unknown whether he shot and killed his own father. When will we get this gun violence under control?
